Red Hill

On Sunday we ventured off to Red Hill on the Mornington Penninsula. Red Hill Brewery (or Beer-ery as Matt calls it) is a beautiful little spot where they grow their own hops, brew their own beer and serve a lovely pork belly lunch. It was also doggy friendly so there were lots of puppies hanging around. I have been to many beautiful wineries but not that many breweries that I would call lovely or quaint. This spot was perfect.

We went up to see the view from Arthur's' Seat which is the highest point on the Mornington Penninsula and provides panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay. There is a now defunct chairlift that used to go all the way up the side of the mountain to the top of Arthur's Seat. It looked scary to me.

The best part of the day was the Red Hill Cheesery. Down a dirt road and tucked in the back of the stringybark forest is a cheese lovers paradise. We sat on the deck and were brought a tasting plate with various award winning cheeses made from sheep, cow and goat milk. Everything was delicious!! We came home with some very stinky yet incredibly yummy cheese. Of course Flat Lenore came too.

Unexpected Visitor

I went to check my mail a week or so ago and found I had an unexpected visitor. My friend Lenore (aka Colin, Phyllis & Jack's Aunt LeeLee) had sent me a small version of herself "Flat Lenore". Lenore is a school teacher and "Flat Lenore" is part of a project she does with her students after they read the book Flat Stanley. So "Flat Lenore" has been doing lots of fun things around Melbourne like feeding Ringtail Possums and going to the CBD to see the Yarra River and Eureka Tower. It has been great having a surprise guest!

Bushfires

Thank you everyone for checking up on Matt and me. We are fine and all of our family here is ok too which is wonderful for us. As most of you have seen on t.v. many other families are not so fortunate. The fires have been devastating but the displays of kindness have been overwhelming. The people are inspiring in their generosity towards the fire victims. If anyone wants to help the Victorians who have been affected here is the RedCross website. http://www.redcross.org.au/
Thanks again to everyone who was concerned about us!!! Love You Guys!!!!

Doggy Beach

It's been hotter than hades here in Melbourne for the past week or so reaching balmy temperatures of 117f (45c). Since I love the heat soooooooo much I am sure I have been very pleasant to live with. We have found some relief by heading down to doggy beach to play in the ocean with lots of puppies. Bosley was a little unsure of himself at first but soon enough he was bounding in and out of the water.
